What are the Risks of Rhinoplasty?

* There is a small risk of suffering a nose bleed requiring further treatment.
* You have a very small risk of a nasal infection.
* Small amounts of swelling in the skin at the time of surgery may disguise or hide underlying irregularities or deformities that become apparent later.
* Unpredictable healing of bone and cartilage may cause irregularities that can appear weeks or months after surgery. These irregularities may be just felt or may also be visible.
* Very rarely slight reddening of the skin may occur - this is more likely if you have had a previous rhinoplasty
* Every effort is made to achieve the result you want and you should notice improvement but about 5% of patients request revision surgery.
* It is important to appreciate that surgery cannot guarantee a perfect result.
