A small cast/splint is applied to the outside of your nose at the end of your operation. We avoid routinely putting dressings, which are uncomfortable, inside your nose. You may go home the same day or stay in hospital
overnight. You will be seen in the clinic a week after surgery at which time the external nasal splint and any stitches are removed. You will be seen again 8 to 12 weeks after surgery to check your nose has healed.
We advise 1-2 weeks off work and avoiding the gym or flying for 2 weeks. Avoid contact sport for 6 weeks - it takes this long for the nose to heal and to be back to normal strength.
